The theme chosen "Resilience Design "
reveals the researchers' concern about the issues related to our reality of
climate change and natural disasters, associated with the states of
vulnerability and risk, with their wide effects on society and how to inhabit
the territory. These issues are fundamental and of great importance in the
discipline and in the field of design and architecture, as they are also
relevant for collaborative work, with emerging areas of the arts and human
sciences.
Thinking about Resilience Design is to place ourselves on
new scenarios of reflection and action, where supported by transdisciplinary
thinking and collaborative design, allow us a
new approach to our territories
and their demands, more contextualized and adjusted to their current and future
requirements; Starting point to establish the key elements that drive a
change in our cities and society. In this sense, technology and digital
development, management of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT),
design and construction parametric, working with Building Information Modeling
(BIM), the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Among many others, have
been delivering an enormous amount of tools and possibilities of interaction
with living in society, Favoring a substantive change in the way of understanding
and relating to the built environment and the territories that house
them. This implies a strong commitment to the Social Responsibility of our
disciplines and the necessary landing of technological and digital research and
development, of a high level, to our diverse realities, to put them at the
service of affected communities in vulnerable environments or with a high
condition Of risk, which are subject to constant resilient processes.
Working in Resilience Design allows to support research,
productive processes and the emergence of new technologies in interdisciplinary
contexts, and whose greatest value is to influence the processes of teaching
and professional practice, of the different areas related to the human
habitation, who will have the work To act and integrate into these new
scenarios of change and constant adjustment.
